While World Nos. 1 and 2, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, were either slowed (Murray) or stopped completely (Djokovic) by injury, the 35-year-old Federer continues to look as strong as ever. He has still yet to lose a set this tournament, and with the way he’s playing, even a perfect performance on the other side of the net may not be enough to stop him.
That’s bad news for Berdych, who makes his second straight trip to the Wimbledon semifinals after Djokovic was forced to retire with an injury. The 31-year-old hasn’t been nearly as dominant, as he needed four sets to get past Jeremy Chardy and Ryan Harrison, and five to up-end Dominic Thiem.
These two have met 24 times in their careers, with Federer holding an 18-6 advantage.
