According to a TMZ report, a witness said McDonald drove his silver Porsche off the highway, ramming into a gas meter and coming to a stop on an embankment. The witness told TMZ that McDonald boasted to responding officers that he “appeared in Happy Gilmore.” He was transported to jail by officers on suspicion of drunk driving, where he was released at 10:30 a.m. on October 29 once he sobered up.

This is the second time McDonald has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. In 2013, he had a BAC of 0.15 when he was arrested in Wilmington, North Carolina. His BAC was nearly double the legal limit of 0.08. During that arrest, McDonald was pulled over by deputies around 4:30 a.m., and witnesses who were with him at a bar hours before told TMZ that McDonald “could hardily speak” when they met him.

In addition to his role in Happy Gilmore, McDonald has appeared in various movies and TV shows throughout his career. He was in Thelma & Louise, Leave It to Beaver, the animated film The Iron Giant, Requiem for a Dream and many more. Most recently, McDonald has been filming for the movies Abruptio and Deep Murder, both set to be released next year.
