There’s nothing better than unwrapping a new video game, and walking through the new game modes. However, users are complaining the EA servers are down causing many angry football fans who are unable to play Madden 18 at its full capacity.
The servers appeared to be working fine when Madden 18 first launched at midnight, but about an hour into the launch users started complaining of issues. Users are getting error messages that read, “Our servers cannot process your request at this time. Please try again later.”
This not only impacts Madden fans, but gamers who are playing other EA video games as well. Chances are if you are reading this, it is not your connection, but the entire EA server.
So far, EA Sports has not released a statement on when the server issue should be resolved. Under normal circumstances, Madden 18 can take a bit to download. It took me about an hour to download the first file and longer to download the full game. The normal download speed will depend on your internet connection.
The good news is the actual Madden 18 gameplay is worth the wait. Fans will notice improved graphics with the new Frostbite engine. The players and uniforms are more detailed. The lighting during games has also been enhanced.
Longshot is this year’s biggest addition. The new Story Mode gives users a cinematic experience as they play as the fictional football player Devon Wade as he looks to make the NFL. It in an interactive experience as the choices you make impacts your draft stock. The mode is a mixture of football gameplay and character development.
All this combined with the ever popular Ultimate Team and Franchise modes explains why the demand is great for this year’s NFL game.
Here was the Twitter’s reaction to the bad news:
