Mindfulness & Meditation
Finding peace in a chaotic world.
Mental health is just as important as physical health. Mindfulness is the practice of being present in the moment, without judgment. It's a powerful tool for managing stress and anxiety.
Starting a Meditation Practice
You don't need to sit cross-legged on a mountain top for hours. Start with just 5 minutes a day. Find a quiet spot, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. When your mind wanders (and it will), gently bring it back to your breath.
Mindful Living
You can practice mindfulness anytime, anywhere. Pay attention to the sensation of water on your hands while washing dishes, or the taste and texture of your food while eating. It's about fully experiencing the here and now.
The Science
Studies have shown that regular meditation can physically change the brain, increasing density in areas associated with learning and memory, and decreasing activity in the amygdala, the brain's stress center.
