‘American Ripper’ History Channel: What Time & Channel Is It On?

Tonight, History Channel will premiere its new eight-part series, ‘American Ripper’, at 10pm ET/PT.

In the series, the great-great-grandson of H.H. Holmes claims that American serial killer H.H. Holmes was, in fact, Jack the Ripper.

H.H. Holmes is notorious for killing 27 people– he confessed to 27 murders, though it is believed he may have killed up to 200 people in the late 1800s. In the late 1800s in the Whitechapel district of London, multiple women were murdered. Theorists have posited a number of people who they believe could be Jack the Ripper. In this History Channel documentary, Jeff Mudgett makes the argument that his great-great-grandfather, H.H. Holmes, and Jack the Ripper are one in the same.

DATE: Tuesday, July 11 (running for eight weeks)

CHANNEL: History Channel

TIME: 10pm ET/PT – 11pm ET/PT

PREMIERE EPISODE TITLE: “Devil in the Details”

PREMIERE EPISODE SYNOPSIS: “Premiere of a series that investigates the possible connection between an American serial killer and England’s Jack the Ripper.”

INFO: The show will run every Tuesday at 10pm ET/PT on History for eight weeks.

Mudgett enlists the help of former CIA operative Amaryllis Fox to help him in his investigation of Jack the Ripper. Fox, herself, admits that proving the identity of Jack and Holmes is one in the same will be no easy task. “H. H. Holmes is so premeditated that he’s built a hotel for the purpose of killing his victims and disposing of their bodies,” she says. “Jack the Ripper was looking for targets of opportunity and leaving their bodies for anybody to find. So that’s one glaring difference between them.”

The investigation starts in New Hampshire, where Holmes grew up, and continues to Chicago, where the notorious serial killer owned a building where he’s said to have killed his victims. Be sure to catch the new thrilling crime documentary, which airs tonight at 10pm ET/PT on History Channel.
