A protester shouted, “Trump is treason” before throwing miniature Russian flags at the president. Trump was walking with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell into the senate when the incident occurred.
The Intercept’s Ryan Grim id’d the protesters as Ryan Clayton.

In February 2017, Clayton was called out by discredited journalist James O’Keefe on Twitter. Clayton had been apparently handing out miniature Russian flags at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
NBC News reported that Clayton, along with Jason Charters handed out close to 1,000 Russian flags. Charters told the network, “The amount of people who didn’t know the flag was astonishing.” While Clayton said, “It makes a great point. We shouldn’t have foreign powers picking out president. Some call it a false flay operation. I like to call it a true flag operation because Trump’s definitely in the wrong kind of red, white and blue.”
