there are reports of multiple casualties after an incident involving a truck colliding with cyclists in lower Manhattan.

One suspect was taken into custody after officers responded to reports of a possible shooting and vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Lower Manhattan. Emergency personnel rushed to the scene where a number people were reportedly injured from the incident near Stuyvesant High School.

Law enforcement officials told The New York Times that they weren’t looking for other suspects as of 3:30 p.m. local time. Unconfirmed reports on social media say that up to four people were killed near the school, and other reports said people heard gunfire and a school bus had been damaged.

A witness, Frank Brito, told the New York Daily News that he saw the scene unfold, as two trucks crashed into each other and a “heavy-set man” got out of a vehicle and chased someone, firing at least six shots.
