ESPN’s Ryen Russillo was found “intoxicated” and naked when he broke into a Jackson, Wyoming condominium early Wednesday morning.
The probable cause affidavit, obtained by the Jackson Hole News & Guide, says officers were called to a the condo at around 3:30 a.m. after a person heard someone come inside, assuming it was a family members. Within moments, however, Russillo, 42, allegedly walked into the stranger’s bedroom with his pants halfway down his legs.
“Officers found the defendant, later identified as Ryen August Russillo, lying on the bed in the south bedroom naked except for his pants around his ankles,” the document said. “He was obviously intoxicated and the only thing he said was that he was getting his stuff.”
Russillo was held at the Teton County Jail on a criminal trespassing charge. The maximum fine for the charge is $750, and his blood alcohol content wasn’t disclosed to media.
The complaint further stated two people were asleep in the condo when they heard Russillo enter. Once they discovered him, they asked him to leave because he was drunk, a report acquired by the newspaper stated. The two phoned police, who arrived a short while later and found Russillo with what appeared to be bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
Police say that when they questioned Russillo, who’s from West Hartford, Connecticut, he said he thought he had been staying in the condo.
Russillo joined the company as a radio host or co-host in 2009 and is currently the host of ESPN Radio’s “The Ryen Russillo Show.” From 2009 until 2015, Russillo was a co-host on a radio show with Scott Van Pelt titled The Scott Van Pelt Show but later became known as SVP & Russillo. When Van Pelt left to have a bigger role on TV for SportsCenter, the show became known as The Russillo Show and then was Russillo and Kanell when Danny Kanell still worked for ESPN.
Russillo has been a frequent contributor on SportsCenter with Van Pelt.
