Murder on the Orient Express is a mystery thriller/drama film based on the novel of the same name by Agatha Christie. The 2017 film is the fourth adaptation of the novel following a film in 1974, a TV movie in 2001 and a 2010 episode of “Agatha Christie’s Poirot.” The film premieres on November 10.

The film follows a detective named Hercule Poirot, played by Kenneth Branagh, as he boards the Orient Express for a break in between his cases. He meets many interesting characters. Early on, another character asks Poirot for help because he fears for his well-being, and Poirot declines that request. The next morning, that passenger is found stabbed to death. Poirot must use the remaining time on the Orient Express to solve the murder of his fellow passenger.

Sir Kenneth Branagh is a British actor. He stars in Murder on the Orient Express as the main protagonist, Hercule Poirot. Branagh is best known for his acting and directing of several adaptations of William Shakespeare plays and is the current president of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Branagh has also starred in other films and television series including Wild Wild West, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Valkyrie.

Branagh has been nominated 5 Academy Awards and was the first man to be nominated for 5 different categories.
