Game of Thrones Season 7 Odds: Who Is Favored to Sit on Iron Throne?

29

Cersei Lannister, Jon Snow, and Daenerys Targaryen are the top candidates to be sitting on the Iron Throne at the end of the upcoming Season 7 of Game of Thrones, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The season premiere arrives on HBO on Sunday.

When we last left Westeros at the end of Season 6 it was Cersei that held down the Iron Throne, having seized the crown after her son – who had been king – threw himself off a castle tower. That makes her the incumbent, and she’s the -350 favorite on the odds to be sitting on the Iron Throne at the end of Season 7. Cersei, though, won’t be short challengers.

Jon Snow ended Season 6 having been declared the King in the North following his army’s victory over the Boltons, and he’s at +300 on the odds to move south and claim the Iron Throne by the end of the upcoming season. That puts him just ahead of Daenerys Targaryen, who sits at +400 on those betting lines. Daenerys has a claim on the Iron Throne, which the Targaryens formerly held. Snow, unknown to him, is actually a Targaryen descendant as well.

Daenerys finished Season 6 guiding a large navy – plus a trio of dragons – toward Westeros and is seemingly now set to engage with Cersei’s forces at some point in the season ahead.

Rising on the Iron Throne odds is then Petyr Baelish at +700. Baelish finished Season 6 at Winterfell in support of Jon Snow and Sansa Stark, but has a history of scheming and uneasy alliances. Baelish has command of the Knights of the Vale and openly seeks the Iron Throne.

Tyrion Lannister, Cersei’s brother, is then at +1200 on the Iron Throne odds, although he is siding with Daenerys and not his family as Season 7 opens. Jaime Lannister, brother to Cersei and Tyrion, is at +2500 on the betting lines, sandwiched between the remaining Stark children – Bran is at +2000 odds, with Arya listed at +3300, and Sansa a step back at +4000.

And rounding out the top of the list is Gendry at +2000, a largely forgotten character that actually has a strong claim to the Iron Throne – he’s the bastard child of former king Robert Baratheon. Gendry has been missing for the past three seasons but is expected to return.

Theon Greyjoy and Davos Seaworth are both at +5000 on the betting lines for Season 7, with The Night King joining Varys, Euron Greyjoy, Samwell Tarly, and Jorah Mormont at +6600. Fans of Brienne of Tarth will find her back with the longshots at Iron Throne odds of +25000.
